Welcome to The Great Midlife Maze,

a space dedicated to helping women in their 40s and 50s navigate the messy, beautiful transition of middle age without a midlife crisis, a rulebook, or the pressure to have it all figured out.

If you are done with just surviving the daily chaos and ready to actually decode this next chapter, you are in the right place.

The Vision: Real Connection and Real-Life Community

Midlife isn’t a breakdown; it’s a massive wakeup call. But wandering through it shouldn’t feel like a lonely, uphill battle.

While we are constantly connected through phones and apps, midlife women find it increasingly difficult to find true peers, build new friendships, and escape isolation. Traditional resources often push rigid instructions like “Find your new purpose. Transform yourself,” but Alenka believes women already possess that wisdom, knowledge, and awareness within. You don’t need to completely reinvent yourself or follow a strict formula; you just need an invitation to remember and reconnect with who you truly are.

The Great Midlife Maze is designed to fight midlife loneliness by bringing women together around a table. It creates a safe, relaxed space to discuss things usually kept in private, allowing women to witness each other, realize they are not alone, and support one another long after the game is finished.

The ultimate vision is for the platform to become a central meeting point—acting as a modern initiation where “older” women invite younger ones into their circles, using play as a powerful tool to spark real-life connection off the screens.

Meet the Mind Behind the Maze

I’m Alenka Terčič—the writer, creator, and solo force behind this entire project.

Like many of you, I followed the standard playbook for a long time: study hard, get a good job, check all the boxes.

I spent years working in corporate finance, business consulting, and systems integration. Later, I shifted into personal growth, coaching, and leading international events like the Dream Life Creation Summit. I’ve lived in different places, taught life skills to children on the island of Bali, and spent decades exploring how people change, adapt, and find meaning.

But when I hit my 40s, a quiet panic set in. I woke up realizing I wasn’t actually living my life. I was stuck, overwhelmed by daily demands, and wondering: Is this really it?

I decided enough was enough. I dove headfirst into unlearning the rules, shifting my mindset, and figuring out what I actually wanted. That journey inspired me to create things that make this transition easier for other women. You don’t need a coach to tell you what to do; you just need the right tools to find your own answers.

Right now, it’s a one-woman show built from the ground up. I prefer to stay quietly behind the scenes focusing on the creative work, dreaming up new concepts, writing the words, and inventing tools for the journey.

When I’m away from my desk or taking a break from building new projects, you can usually find me at home in Slovenia with my husband, our two dogs, and a cat, enjoying a slow morning coffee or a glass of good wine, digging in the garden, or walking my dog Max where a lot of my best ideas strike.
